3. Description of Services

We provide the supply, installation, and maintenance of lockdown and temporary fire alarm systems. Our systems are battery-powered and operate via radio frequency. Optional after-installation maintenance packages are also available.

All work and services are subject to the terms below.

4. Important System Information

4.1 Lockdown and Fire Systems

Our systems operate on 434.500 MHz radio frequency. Devices using or interfering with this frequency band may disrupt performance or cause excessive battery consumption. We cannot accept liability for any issues caused by environmental or third-party radio interference.

All systems are battery powered. The expected battery life is approximately two (2) years under normal use as stated by the equipment supplier. However, excessive testing, frequent activations, or RF interference can shorten battery life. Battery life is not guaranteed by us, as we are only the installer—not the manufacturer.

4.2 Temporary Fire Alarm Systems

We supply temporary fire alarm systems only, which are not EN54 certified. These are unsuitable for permanent fire safety compliance under UK building regulations.

We accept no responsibility for claims, losses, or damage caused by misuse or misunderstanding of this limitation.

4.3 System Testing, Noise, and Site Access

Routine system tests may trigger alarms producing significant noise. We require access to your site for installation, servicing, and testing. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform staff, visitors, and residents before any planned system tests to prevent unnecessary panic or disruption.

4.4 Customer Modifications and Interference

You must not alter, tamper with, or reconfigure the system without our prior written consent. This includes changing settings, moving devices, or replacing parts.

If you or your staff make unauthorised modifications:

  • All warranties and liabilities may be voided.
  • We accept no responsibility for faults, failures, or losses caused.
  • Any rectification will be chargeable.

4.5 Training and Usage

We will provide operational training to your designated key staff members. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that this knowledge is shared across your team and that all staff understand how to use and test the system correctly.

We accept no liability for system misuse or failure due to poor internal training or staff negligence.

4.6 Loss, Theft, Damage, and Replacements

Any system component that is lost, stolen, broken, or damaged (accidentally or otherwise) will be replaced at the customer’s cost. This includes:

  • Replacement unit cost,
  • Battery replacement,
  • Call-out and labour charges.

Such costs will be invoiced as per our standard rates.

5. Maintenance Packages

Optional maintenance packages are offered under a separate agreement outlining scope, frequency, and pricing. If maintenance access is refused or unsafe at the agreed time, the visit may be cancelled or rescheduled, possibly incurring a call-out charge.

Packages typically run for 12 months and may auto-renew unless cancelled with 30 days’ notice.

6. Payment Terms

Prices are in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.

Invoices must be paid by the agreed due date. Overdue accounts may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Refunds are not provided unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:

  • Provide safe, reasonable access for installation and service,
  • Ensure building occupants are aware of alarm testing,
  • Not alter or tamper with system components,
  • Disseminate training to all necessary staff,
  • Maintain the environment to allow proper system function.

We accept no liability for failures caused by breaches of these responsibilities.

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is strictly limited:

  • No liability for indirect or consequential losses,
  • No responsibility for performance issues due to RF interference or excessive battery drain from environmental factors,
  • Battery life is as advised by the supplier, not guaranteed by us,
  • No liability for failures arising from customer handling, misuse, or unauthorised modification,
  • Our total liability is limited to the price paid for the affected service.

9. Cancellation Rights (Consumers)

For private consumers, a 14-day cooling-off period applies under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. After this period, cancellation fees may apply.

No refund is available for services or installations already begun with your agreement.

10. Data Protection (GDPR Compliance)

We collect and process customer data (such as name, email, and phone number) for legitimate business purposes including:

  • Service provision,
  • Enquiry responses,
  • Marketing (if consented).

Data is securely stored and not shared with third parties except where required by law. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.
