A Church of England school for over 1,700 pupils aged 4 to 18 needed lockdown alerting that reached outdoor areas as well as indoor spaces, including the football pitch. Thirty-four wireless devices went in during 2021, with a further seven sounder/beacons added a year later.
Why this deployment is worth reading
An all-through school covering ages 4 to 18 has to make one alert work for reception children and sixth formers at the same time, across a site that includes open outdoor space. External devices were added so coverage reached the football pitch, not just the corridors.
It is also a useful reference for phasing. The school started with 34 devices and added seven more sounder/beacons a year later, without reworking what was already in place.
